The ArtistGeorgina Rambton has been in most people’s houses, but they don’t know it! She is a world renowned textile designer and artist who has painted flowers and decorative finishes on millions of yards of cloth, paper and pots. She has been exhibiting and showing her work worldwide since 1984. In 1996, after many years chasing around the world and taking orders from top manufacturers, she called it a day. She made millions for other companies, it was time for Georgina to do what she does best for herself! Turning her back on the industry, she started to paint her beloved flowers in glorious multi-colour, exploring texture and form in a way that the restrains of the industry could not print. “Zinging abstracts, luxuriant riots of flowers, awash with colour. Georgina Rambton’s background as an international textile designer shines throughout her work” The Mail The one thing that Georgina would say that is the best thing that has come from leaving the industry is the fact that she gets to meet all the folk who love her work; their appreciation has supported her throughout her change in career. She is always at the fairs and shows that we attend and loves meeting the people that buy her work. The price of her original watercolours have increased in a way that is no longer affordable to some, so Georgina decided to produce prints. She proofs all prints, casting her critical eye over each print, making sure they are as equal in quality to each original inspired watercolour she paints. She always says that it’s the people that love her paintings, the people that she talks to on the stands that encourage her to paint more and that it would be unfair that those who want to enjoy her work cannot. In her own words she says “who am I to tell someone, they can’t have something they love just because they don’t have enough money!” |
