Big DahliaI painted this after ‘Foxgloves’, you can see the foxgloves hiding in the background. I particularly love how the Primula Candelabra flowers stagger up their main stems, and burst into an explosion of colour with intricate flowers at the top. They give a lovely contrast to the maroony reds and greens surrounding the Big Dahlia, which is surrounded by a misty wash of leaves and flowers combining the colours and shapes giving in wonderful depth.
