Echinacea and Buddleia ButterflyThis is one of the series of paintings that I painted during my Echinacea obsession in 2008. I remember being on the stand at RHS Tatton Park in the summer and seeing lots of people walking by with these gorgeous plants. I couldn't wait until I got home to paint the plants that I bought that day! I particularly enjoy the buddleia that was growing out of the garden wall and the hundreds of butterflies that where swarming round it. The colours work beautifully together and the light washes joining the two species add an extra dimension to the whole image.
