Primula CandelabraI wanted a painting that worked well between Foxgloves and Big Dahlia. I thought that the Primula, which briefly made an appearance in Big Dahlia should have a painting all to itself; one which showed off the whole of the plant yet had space between each stem to appreciate the details of each one. The red flowers are my favourite in terms of colour. I particularly enjoy the way in which the clusters located at the top of the stem burst out making quirky shapes, I enjoy painting these shapes. which don’t look like a flower head because I really have to look to see exactly what the shape is doing.
